A Month of Letters

Mary Robinette Kowal has a great idea:
I have a simple challenge for you.
  1. In the month of February, mail at least one item through the post every day it runs. Write a postcard, a letter, send a picture, or a cutting from a newspaper, or a fabric swatch.
  2. Write back to everyone who writes to you. This can count as one of your mailed items.
All you are committing to is to mail 24 items. Why 24? There are four Sundays and one US holiday. In fact, you might send more than 24 items. You might develop a correspondence that extends beyond the month. You might enjoy going to the mail box again.
I'm going to do it.

Read all about it HERE (via Boing-Boing).

  1. I LOVE it!
I'm a lover of the handwritten word. And she's right--you write differently when it's by hand, well, at least I do.

    I'm game!
    How fun!

Ohhhhhh.....AND I can pick up cool STAMPS! :-)

  3. This is a great idea and I have been contemplating whether or not I am willing to commit to it. Who doesn't love getting something personal in the mail? I have too much going on right now, though, and I'm trying to get rid of commitments, not add more. I hope you will post some of your experiences as you send mail throughout the month.
