Three safer alternatives to Google:I like DuckDuckGo a lot. I've been using it almost exclusively for the last few months. It's highly configurable and gives good, accurate results.
The corporate search engines do give slightly better results when looking for something local, like a car dealer or pizza place. They're good for those times when you want a pizza and you don't care who knows it.
